Here are photos of a few Cutting boards I recently made out in the Woodshop. Having a lot of fun building these up. It started out when I simply wanted to make one for my own use in the kitchen (I hate using plastic cutting boards, utensils etc when preparing food). Soon I had people asking me to make some for them as well. Now I am making several per week and am having a great time!

They look nice. Cherry, maple and walnut? What finish did you put on them?

I’ve been using a variety of maple, cherry, walnut and purpleheart for them. Food grade tung oil or food grade walnut oil are the finishes I’ve been using.

I have always had good luck using mineral oil. I also use it on toys for children and infants.

I’ll be trying some mineral oil on them in the future. Right now though, I have lots of really good tung oil and walnut oil (food grade) from my paddle making business.
