Triple Bunk Beds

I got the plans for this build from a fellow Lumberjock. I made a few small changes to his design, and started building the beds from the ground up. I laminated 3/4” pine boards for all the framing & box pieces & the tops are 1/2” sanded pine plywood. I beefed up the framing because I know my three boys will be body slamming each other on it in a few years. I’m pretty sure this bed could support an elephant! I chose this design because it fits nicely in a 12’ X 12’ bedroom, and it offers space below the middle bunk for storage. I also like how the bed is made in sections, which allows me to take it apart easily in case we decide to move it. It was fun building this from the ground up, and watch the project come together everyday. Now that its complete, it’s time to ice my lower back, open a beer and watch my three boys enjoy the new beds.

Dave the beds came out great!! I like how you mirrored each side so it opens up the options for changing the room layout if needed. If anyone else would like to download the Sketch up made please feel free to at www.merzkecustomwoodworking.com

You got boys or bears? That’s hell for stout, just the way I like to make things. Have your sons broken through the drywall yet, during a little rough’n’tumble?

The design is amazing as well as the execution.
