Another box of many layers. This time five x 1.5 mm layers and one 0.6 mm.

Construction – EZ Mitre Shell box.

Dimensions – 135 mm square x 90 mm high. 8 mm thick walls (5×1.5 mm layers and 1×0.6 mm). On an 8 mm plinth/inner.

Materials – Sycamore (dyed Black, Purple, Red, Orange and Yellow with Chestnut, spirit woodstain) and Birch Ply.

Adhesives – PVA, CA

Finish – Sanded to 240 Grit and finished with Spray Satin Acrylic

Wonderful. Seems to just “glow”. (Are you sure there isn’t a hidden light inside?) LOL Seriously, it’s an achievement. I foresee a whole series of layered boxes coming from Devon…. Nicely done.

It’s lined with a Sycamore (English) veneer which is very light in colour. No internal lighting used.

So nothing actually lies within and therefore it appears to lie about being internally illuminated.

This is a box that probably really needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate. It is eye candy online, but I am sure we are missing the full aspect of the texture and color.
