Jewelry Box

I had some fun with this box. I took Poplar and Cedar and glued them up. It becomes very apparent when you look at the box corners. It was really weird working with two colors of wood. In my old age, I had to tell myself all day long, Poplar out. It’s like sod, GREEN up!!!
I used a new hinge to me on this box. It only opens 90 degrees. Because of the weight of the lid, I also installed two stop arm hinges to the inside.
Because both woods are soft and porous, I put two coats of sealant on before 4 coats of instrument lacquer.
I used Cardinal floss on the interior and lid for contrast.

Thank you. I’m working on one now that is made of Lacewood and Buckeye Burl.
