Even little things have big stories. The wood was an old round that was checked and twisted.Passed along to me from an old wood worker that never broke into it. I split a wedge and sliced a water melon piece out of it, put it to the band saw to get the big arcs, then drilled with a forsner on each side of center, a few cuts hear and there and a ton of sanding and I ended up with a custom scrimshaw holder, or I got to thinking maybe a business card holder? Anyway, I needed a scrimshaw holder to display my work. An old friend had a broken cribbage board made from a walrus tusk. He said for some scrimshaw he would give me the rest of the ivory. So I cut it up into little pieces and put some art on them. Playing around I came up with this. I only know how to put in the three pictures so can’t show you any more shots. I’m amazed I’m getting this done. LOL. You can go to photobucket.com , look up mtnwild and see my photos of other projects I mess around with. Do all this for kicks so far. Make a random dollar here and there, mostly everything end up gifts, so I don’t have to buy anything on the different occasions. Hope you enjoy. OH, I found out the wood is plumb.

Absolutely Beautiful!
I really like the flowing lines of the holder. The eagle is stunning!
