this was a fire kill log we sliced today that turned out to be a spalted white oak full of subtle rainbow hues. these slabs are 3 inches thick, bookmatched, quartersawn, and over 24inches wide each. hope the pic does justice to the colors! in a couple of years ,what a table-

We are in Southern California.That log was fire kill from last years massive wildfires.I’m stockpilling lots of matched sets that will be ready for release starting next year
