After a long week of mid-terms, I went home this weekend and spent some quality time on the lathe. After about 4 hours of making bowls, and shavings up to my knees, I wanted to do something a bit different. I had some stock of a maple from an old runner at work, and decided to make another snowman. This guy still has the stick arms, like what I did last year. I burned his eyes and buttons, and for his nose, I turned a small cone out of some red cedar scrap I had laying around. He was sanded to 1200 grit and finished with beeswax and 0000 steel wool.
