This workbench was built from reclaimed Lumber I got from my grandfather. The lumber had been the structure of an outdoor shed for who knows how long and was very weathered. When I ran it through my planer, low and behold Wormy Chestnut! Probably not most people’s first choice for workbench material, but I went with it. The vises are reclaimed Cherry from a house that was being torn down locally. Hardware is mostly from Lee Valley tools.

Looks like a working bench, I bought the same Vise hardware from L.V. how do you like it, no racking problems?

No racking problems so far, and they clamp HARD too. Could easily pick up the table by something they’re holding on to.

Heck of a bench ! (you know what I mean.) I’m guessing your grand father is proud of it to.

Have your say...
