I made some widgets today. (I don’t know what to call these)

I made the bases from some floor blocks that I have had for many years. I cut the dowels so that they are all the same length and I used a pencil sharpener to sharpen the the dowels.

No I am wondering if you all know what they are used for?

Edit:
Thanks to Matthew I now know what they are called.

Nice job on the widgets ,but I have not a clue what the purpose is.
I’d guess they are part of a game??

Nicely done! I have done something pretty similar, except I simply used 2” screws in place of the sharpened dowels. I use them as “stand-offs” when I am painting or spraying projects.

Cheers!

Do they have the same use as Bench Cookie Cones?

Matthew
You are spot on. Bench Cookie Cones it is.

Dave
Good idea to use screws. Perhaps I would have used screws as well, if I thought of it beforehand.

Jim
If you consider woodworking an entertainment (which I do, because I do it as a hobby) they could be part of the game :-)

You could bury them in the leaves outside the door to your shop. They’d be great for deterring people who borrow without asking!

With the crime situation here in SA that is not a bad idea! I think I’ll make some more using rusted nails.
