I was looking at my profile the other day and realized that it had been quite a while since I posted anything. To remedy that, here is a garden bench I built this summer. It’s made mostly of 4×4’s, with a couple of 2×4’s and a 1×4 tossed in for good measure. I’m always conflicted about what finish to use on my outdoor projects. This time I simply went with Boiled Linseed Oil. I realize that means reapplication every year but I sure like the warm glow it gives the wood and I prefer the feel of it versus the plastice feeling of a spar urathane.

That’s a very rugged bench but very attractive as well.

Derek, that came out really nice, even more so considering that you used construction material!
