My friend’s son collects cards. Upper Deck is now selling cards with pieces of jerseys in them. He wanted a way for his son to display the cards that make up his name. I made up a jig to create a recess in a 3/4 piece of poplar just deep enough to let the cards sit inside. Used three wooden hockey sticks to make up the frame. I doubled up the sides of the frame with a stick ripped down the middle (picture 5) and epoxied them together to hide the poplar and give a nice, beefy look.
Cut some glass to fit, and attached the frame with pocket holes so cards can be swapped out in the future. Stain is Minwax Ebony.
Thanks for looking.
