Saw this pattern on another lumberjocks project page and thought I would try it. Walnut and maple. It was harder than I thought; what with the making sure the long pieces were identical width and length. But it was the glue-up that caught me off guard; ended up screwing two strips of wood to a piece of plywood then gluing and placing the parts and sort of trapping the final assembly with two more strips. I think I should have sandwiched the piece between two sheets of ply because it came out pretty rough and took alot to get it smooth. One side was better than the other so I put feet on it to hide the rougher side.

Well done. Any problem with the Walnut sanding dust contaminating the Maple?

Having done a couple of these, I can attest to the difficulty in getting the glue up right.
Very Nice!
