This is a gift for LJ Doug Scott for all the sycamore wood and other wood he has given me for years. He will probably use it for pop corn so I finished with salad bowl finish on the inside and clear lacquer on the outside.
Both were buffed to the final finish.
It is 9” dia. and 4” high.

Enjoy, Doug…..................Cheers, Jim

Good work Jim. I see some nice color in the sycamore. Nice touch with the soft curve top.

Great Bowl Jim, love that gentle curve.
I reckon the popcorn will taste real good.

Bob.

Thank you all for the nice comments. Doug has seen this bowl in the rough state when it cam out of the chip barrel. It was not dried long enough , though because it did warp a bit between cutting and sanding but the pop corn won’t know it!! with a recessed center bottom, a bowl can be mounted with a flat nylon cap on the live center and the bottom be cut true very carefully

Cheers, Jim

Real nice Jim. It has an upside down bell shape which looks great.

Jim, I can smell the popcorn! Beautiful bowl and thoughtful gift. How is the sycamore to turn? Thanks for sharing.
