My first introduction to woodworking.
When I decided to work with wood my first project was to build a coffee table.
The table was made of low grade pine (bad choice), stained and finished using tung oil.
This was 15 years ago and it still in use.
This projected started my love of woodworking for me.

Well that’s held up very well, a very nice first project.

Looks good. From the pictures, I think you did a pretty good job on the stain. Much better than my first coffee table.

Out of curiousity, is that a floating panel or a mitered frame inset and glued to the outer pieces? A long 15 years of use tells me the construction approach you used worked out well.
