It’s a pretty simple Oak box but I wanted something to carry other than throwing boxes in a Dewalt tool bag. I sanded a little too much on the front left corner and is shown in the pictures. It did give me a chance to try a new clamping technique when laminating the top boards together. I clamped vertically and horizontally (if that makes sense).

The dimensions are 11 1/2×6 x 3. The interior depth ended up being 1 5/16 after I got going. I used box joints and it will hold 4 boxes of 9mm ammo (200 total). I would like to build a more universal box for the range but I am still thinking on what I really want that to be.

It’s finished with minwax “gunstock” stain and a satin poly topcoat. The hinges and latch are simple and were bought at Pat Catans a couple of blocks away from me.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice box.. I see you have the lid centered. I have made 5 boxes and always have a problem with getting the hinges right so the lid fits….any helpful hints

It’s a beautiful box and a great way to store cartridges.
