This is a full size maple bed I just completed for my daughter. The design is my own. I wanted a true basket weave in the headboard, but the 1/4” maple slats were just too thick for that (even after a steam bending attempt). However, this alternative configuration looks pretty good, too. I used the same wood that was used in my side tables (you can see on my projects page) and one of them will sit next to the new bed.
I used knock down bed hardware from rockler, and the finish is just three coats of polycrylic.

This turned out nicely and I bet she loves it.

I didn’t even realize that it WASN’T a true weave until the close-up shot. The shadows in the 2nd picture make it look like a true weave. Beautiful!
