Laundry Chute

This is a laundry chute made for my niece. They lived in a bi-level home with the washer and dryer in the basement. It is made from red oak. Finish is a wipe on poly. Size is about 25”x 18” x 33”.

Nice job! I have never seen a laundry chute in the floor like that piece would support – I have only seen them in the walls. Did your niece’s family cut the laundry chute in the floor themselves or was it there already?
