In addition to participating in the box swap I had an order for three bridesmaid boxes from a friend who is getting married. She originally wanted me to buy three at a craft store and finish them. I told her I think I could save her some money AND make a more personalized box if I made them myself. I made these three out of half inch poplar, assembled with rabbets, engraved the maids name on each and did a dogwood blossom with a dremel and a router attachment. All matching. Finished with red oak stain and gloss polyurethane, (three coats). Red felt lined. Between the swap and these I have really been “boxing” lately!

Beautifully crafted, Jeff. How could she not be impressed? Dogwood is my favorite flowering tree, love the symbolism related to it. Thanks for sharing.

-- God bless, Candy

Thanks Candy, She (the bride) plans on putting a small piece of jewelry in each. Gift for the brides maids. I wish I made another box, little different, little bigger for the bride as a gift.
