After a two year absence, two moves and a cross country road trip I have relocated my shop to Sarasota FL. This is the first piece that I’ve done in quite a while. I was mainly trying to tune up all of my tools and re-calibrate my eye hand coordination. I needed a break from box making and was influenced by the figure in the rosewood.
The front & back are solid rosewood, the curved sides are veneered rosewood over MDF.
It’s good to be back on the air after a long unplanned absence.
As always comments and feedback are welcome

Very Nice. Is that the stuff from Sri Lanka? I too have taken a few years off to study neurology. Traveling around the country for class, studying, and still running a practice doesn’t leave much time for woodworking. I have a guitar build from the Sri Lanka rosewood that is half way done, and I look forward to getting back in the shop in the next month or two.

Nice look. I really like how you offset the top to add even more interest. Thanks for sharing.

Good to see you posting again and I hope you enjoy Sarasota. The “Elixer” is enjoying a predominant spot on my shelf and being admired daily.
