My first Greene & Greene project. From FWW #231. Took a long time, but fun and lots of learning – mortises, splines, glue-up, ebony, and lots of curves.

Some very nice detail work here! Did you use ebony for the inserts, or did you colorize another wood?

Yes, solid ebony. Very hard and polishes to a shine. I have some left for the next project.

Beautifully crafted piece. Is the primary wood cherry? Thanks foe sharing.

Thanks. Yes it is solid cherry, including the panels. I struggled to find pieces without sapwood and I stained a little sapwood on the larger ones. The only thing other than cherry is the plywood and screws for the mattress platform.

You did a fine job on this bed.

Great looking bed! I think this design is in the Gamble House.

Yes, it is. The two there are twin size and this plan was stretched out to queen. They also have, I think, some kind of inlay in the panels. I would like to visit some day.
