Project Information
Everyone keeps posting these amazing treasure chests, so I thought it would be fun to make one for my son. This was not meant to be a keepsake box that he treasures for all time, just something fun for him to play with.
The whole thing is made from a scrap piece of pine that I had used a while back in an experiment. The only screw's in it are holding on the hinge and handles, the rest is lots of clamping.
The wood already has scree holes in it and some major gouges so I decided to go with a heavily used finish.
Total investment was about $1.50 for the hinge, the rest was scraps and old handles.
