My router bit collection was growing and I needed a better place to put them so I came up with something quick, easy, and free. I glued up some scrap pine and put 3 coats of wipe-on satin poly before I drilled the holes. Cleaned out the drawer closest to my routers and dropped it in, leaving lots of room for more growth. Lots of room height wise also as the big red straight cutting bit in the back has a 2” long cut with a 1/2” shank.

Pretty innovative. And keeps them from banging the cutting edges together (like mine, which are all just thrown into a box)

It is amazing how much real estate bits can start to commandeer?

Nice job taking care of your investment.

I need this so badly, but I am so lazy.
Thanks for the motivation.

Good job. I am jealous.

Looks good and very organized. Is the insert one piece and removeable. I did something similar with my router table and love it. Starting to run out of room though. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/101779

Enjoy
