Being Disabled due to spinal problems, I have to live on a tight budget and therefore can’t afford to donate to Charities financially… So I hope to raise some funds for my chosen charities by donating some of my turnings to the Auctions they hold. This one is for “Scotty’s Little Soldiers”, a charity that supports children who have lost a parent while serving in the UK armed forces, I hope it raises a good amount when It’s auctioned in October.

Thanks for the kind comments folks! I’m really hoping that it raises a good amount for the charity, as the work they do is fabulous and so important. I’m going to be making some other pieces for various charities in the coming weeks, including RNIB (for the Blind…My mother was registered Blind) Duchenne Muscular Distrophy (a friend who sadly passed away this year was the oldest person EVER to survive this awful condition) and Parkinson’s Disease (My Uncle Bill, and an old friend, Reg Gibbons, both suffer from this) and TOMORROW I will be making something for The Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue, who 6 years to the day, recovered the body of my dear friend Jillian P Cowie, after she fell 700 feet to her death in Snowdonia, Wales, UK.
As I have said, I am living on state benefits due to being unable to work due to my spinal problems, but I am DETERMINED to support the good work done by charities through my Wood Turning.

Tonight, 18th Oct, is “Auction Night”. Let’s hope it raises a nice amount for the kids! The Charity have said they’ll let me know how much it raises, and I’ll let you all know once they tell me!
