Bench Repair - Refinish

I was given two benches from my in-laws to use – my wife grew up with these in her dining room and has many memories attached to them. I had just finished my kitchen table (see previous project posts) and wanted something to match as a set. One of the legs needed a minor repair. Then I removed the tops and tried to give the bases a “rough” refinish to match the legs of the table using a grey weathered stain. The tops were just strip-sanded and given a poly finish. I must say I like benches in the kitchen MUCH better than single chairs. It makes a nice looking set too – like they were meant to be together.

WoW! What you did to these pieces is fantastic! Glad you posted the “before” pic. Talk about breathing new life into something. They really do look great!
