Project Information

Being relatively new to the southern Maryland area….very rural….I learned this past weekend that entering projects in the county fair was a big deal and a lot of fun for all ages. I thought I would enter a few pens I had already made and call it good but my wife said I needed some sort of display or it wouldn't attract the judge's eye.

So I set out to make a small display with the anters…..still missing something I decided to add the european mount as the centerpiece.

Materials:
Sapele - bases
Poplar - skeleton and antlers (carved with Carvewright CNC)
Deer sheds - no animal was injured during the acquisition of
Bolt Action Pen - blue dyed buckeye burl
Shotgun Over-Under - blackwood and lacewood

That's an awesome display. It should certainly get the judges attention. The pens are nice too. I particularly like the one with the blackwood and lacewood.

I also live in a very rural area and also enter things in the local fair and if that didn't win a blue ribbon, you need to move! LOL…...beautiful work on the pens and I love the European mount. Exquisite .

Thanks guys..bummed out for a second place. Second to an old deck of cards….they registered it into the wrong class…..general collections vice woodworking collections……so…..next week the next county is having their fair so I'm on a road trip for a blue ribbon!!! I am on a mission…ha. All in all it was fun participating and I hope a lot of people got a chance to see my work, regardless on how it was scored.

I am an admirer of your work and would like to contact you to discuss a project for my husband. He is in the Navy and has a lovely coin collection with no display. I'm unsure if you sell your pieces, but I wanted to take a chance and contact you nonetheless. If you are uninterested in the project, please accept my compliments on your beautiful pieces. If you are interested, please let me know how I can contact you privately. I am unable to email you through this website. Thank you for your consideration.
