Inspired by the Australian wood turner Theo Haralampou’s xylobowls, , I decided to make my own xylophone. AND it works. I didn’t have a wooden blank in this size ( 340 mm ) wide, so I segmented my project and unlike his xylobowl, I mounted it on a tripod. Although it was my first attempt, I was so happy with the result that I’ve decided to make another one. The only problem is I’m not a musiician and I don’t know how to play the instrument I have made.

That looks a great project Sam, the segmenting definitely makes it your own. Nice choice of wood and finish.
Now for the music lessons. Thanks for sharing, always great to see your creations.

Sam, Looks great and a fine example of how you think outside the box on projects you take on. If you can hum a tune you can tap it out.

Very neat! I’ve made tongue drums which are similar, except tongue drums are a box. I like this.

Nice one Sam. You will have to put up a video clip of you playing it.
