Cavetto Jewelry Box

My second try at box building and the first with a cavetto top. The box is 9” x 6” x 4” and is birds eye maple veneer over a 1/2” Baltic birch ply box. The Cavetto molding was built up using MDF. African blackwood was used for the edging and base molding. Brusso hinges and mocha suede interior with a lacquer finish. The brass makers mark or the bottom was acid etched brass and then copper electroplated with a light sanding to expose the raised lettering.

Looks good. The cavetto lid can be a challenge. Looks like you’ve mastered it. Nice job.
