Finally finished this box I started last winter. It has been long enough that the types of wood was lost. I think the main body wood is mahogany (it was hard to avoid tearout with my rather limited skills) and lid and base came from one piece of a different wood. Wish I had recorded what type is was because it turned great. Finish is BLO and Renaissance wax. Design was my own with lots of inspiration from various LJ projects. It is 3.5” wide by 3” tall.
Granddaughter touched it a said “Its really soooft grandpa.” If I don’t change my mind it is going be a door prize at a class reunion Saturday, although I may not be able to part with it. Your suggestions for improvements in the future are welcome.
