I made coffee table by a comprehensive structure.
1.zigzag top
2. cross connect the leg without skirt.

Nicely done. The way the cross connecting frame should flex with the wood movement of the top. You wouldn’t have gotten away with the mortise and tenon connection on the top with a conventional frame.
