This table is made with Maple, the only reason I chose maple was,I needed to laminate 2” thick for the legs ,Maple was available at a decent price, for the top I was looking for 1.1/4”Cherry but the price was unbelievably too high ,my buddy got a deal ,300 bdft of Maple already cut and planed ,,it was all plain maple, had a real hard time staining it,ended up using General, water based stain.
Learned a few thing with finishing Maple ,what works ,what doesn’t.overall my wife is happy with it.

I think it looks excellent. I have a table to make soon and I might just have to go the Maple way too. The load of walnut I got was still too wet. Really like the legs you made.

Wife happy = good job. I use the “would wife be OK with this” quality test all the time.

I am so impressed with this, and not a little envious. The detail on the legs is really great! 5 stars.
