My first post here will be my most recent creation. We replaced our short coffee table with a taller, more appropriately sized end table that goes in the “L” of our two couches. I’m no expert, so there are a lot of square corners and such. I got a pocket screw system for my birthday and made good use out of it on this.
The top, sides, bottom, vertical dividers, and back are all from a 3/4” red oak veneered plywood from the local big box shop. Legs are 2×2 red oak posts, and the trim is all 1×2 red oak. The shelves are from scrap particle board I had laying around.
We painted all of this with a semi gloss black. Yes, it even feels a little sacrilegious to spend the money on the oak and then paint it black, but it matches the rest of our stuff and I really like how the gain shows through on the black paint.
Thanks for looking!
