I went searching the internet for a headboard. I found one that I liked. A simple design on Jon Peters web site…so I built the same headboard. The headboard is made out of 1” popular. The legs are 2” (2×1” glued). The backing for the panels are 1/2 ply and the moldings were bought (bed and base cap). The headboard was finished with two coats of primer and three coats of bright white semi-gloss latex. I messed up on one piece of molding, cut it too short. No problem since it was being painted. The paint hides the mistakes well.

I have two other headboards that I wanted to make to mount to a wall. I will look for another design for those. I intend to use some leftover beadborad for the panels.

The paint was a latex semi-gloss from HD.
