This was my first project with bloodwood and I very much appreciate how the wood looks when the box is finished. Unfortunately, I didn’t look at the wood hardness chart before I started. Had I looked and seen that it had a hardness of 3300 I would have used it for another project that didn’t require so much hand sanding. The box is only 9 1/2” x 4 3/4” x 4”, but that enough for me. It was also only my second bandsaw box. The drawer fronts are birdseye maple and I lined the drawers with felt. The finish is seven coats of General Finishes Wood Turners Finish.

Dave it may have been a pain in the ….. to sand, but it sure turned out very nice. I have made that design several times in different sizes, and they are always well accepted. Great job

Bloodwood may be difficult to work with but you didn’t let that stop you from EXCELLENCE!

Nice shape, even better wood colour contrast. Realy like those curves.

I have to agree that it was well worth the effort you put into it. The finish is enviable.
