I got a lathe (at my WIFE’S REQUEST!!) in April. I’ve played with it some. That gave me the itch. I was playing around about 2 weeks ago, and this came out of it rather organically. It was started by just some practicing on making a rabbet joint.

That is a nice little box. I don’t know how you ended up turning this on a lathe though, wow that had to be a pretty good trick…
