Been a while since I posted here doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on anything. Made of American cherry these are the CPO vessels for the selectee’s 9. Much like the selects the lumber came in rough cut and at the end of the process they were parade worthy. It’s a bit of a difficult process when all but one had actual woodworking experience none the less they came out looking like an heirloom. Comments and criticism welcome.

I remember making the vessels for my group when I made Chief. I had one helper who learned a lot. We had 12 in our group and did an assembly line process to get together. This is a memory that will last a lifetime.

Great job Chief! I’ve been asked on several occasions to supply vessel ” kits”. Again, great job!

Well those kits would make life a Lil easier for those deployed and wouldn’t hit a port in that time frame I’ve seen that happen .

Nicely done. I was the only one in our group who built a box similar to this. Used HomeDepot Poplar and ebony stain. For the lock, I found that a Window sash lock worked nicely. Drilled out the phillips head on all the brass hinge screws so there’d be no way anyone could get into the box without the key. I’ll have to post a picture one day.

Nicely done, Mike. Is that a pair of dolphins I see on the chest of of the new Chief standing up in the second picture?
