Hello and welcome to LJs…..Do you find that Pine gives a nice quality to the sound , or have you experimented with other woods as well ? Where do you get your movements from ? Do you have any other pictures to show us of your projects ? Thanks for posting : )

The only wood I have used for the boxes so far is red oak. I like to work with it and I like the way it takes a finish. I am going to try some mahogany in a couple of weeks. The movements come from Klockit, ordered on line. I got small hinges and rubber feet at the local hardwares or Walmart.

Beautiful little box, make it a tad bigger and it would make a wonderful jewlery box. Nice job on the finish. Nice job.

These boxes are 4” wide X 6 1/2” long, 2 3/4 inches high. The ladies that have received them filled them with their “stuff”. I agree that they could be larger.
