When I saw this new tool I felt challenged to make my own. It will be fun to use when sharpening my tools. And a $45 saving !

Few pieces of 1/2” MDF and it was done in no time (few tests though).

Find more photos and all construction details on this page of my blog.

Thanks for looking.

Best,

Serge

Better than the original red piece ( I have forgotten the name Woodpecker perhaps !!)

Your shop is plenty of fantastics ideas : “la caverne d’ali baba”

Serge,

I was going to make the exact same thing when I saw it on their site. Well done, I will be making mine soon as well.

Haha. Great. I laughed when I saw the original red one. I guess people have a lot of extra money they need to get rid of. Well done.

I agree with the others, great idea. If you don’t mind I will borrow this as well. Another one for favorites. Thanks.

- woodsmithshop

Actually, $45 is cheap when you consider the accuracy, resolution, and quality of material Woodpecker uses and how much time it would take to make it yourself out of a cheaper quality material (not the same thing).

A creative mind to come up with the idea and design in the first place….................Priceless.

Thank you all guys. I’m glad the idea could be handy for someone.

I rather spend my money on something I can’t make !

Best,

Serge

Didn’t see this one. Might give it a try. Price is right and it wouldn’t take too long to construct. Thanks.
