Project Information

This project is a minature sized bookshelf for the little ones made out of MDF and some molding I got from the lumber store. Designed to fit on your child's chest of drawers (if you have children you will understand why I designed it this way, but it has to be mounted to the wall if you go this route) or floor. Quick and easy project that I built in about two hours and then painted over two days. I would recommend taking the tallest and widest books within reason that your children have. Then Figure out how many books your children have and decide if you need one or two bookshelf's. The joinery is simple through dado's using 3/4" MDF following a story stick laid out accurately. This is a project that you will want to hang onto the story stick, because you will probably end up having to make another. Just remember if you use MDF do not go to wide with the Bookshelf. MDF paint's great and is very affordable. The most important thing to remember is make sure your machines are accurate and true. If you have a good table saw that is tuned up and a good set of dado blades you can fly through this project. This was a nice break from the projects that take one to two months to build.
