Project Information
A drill press table for my new drill press. Again, Woodsmith 3-in-1 drill press upgrade was my inspiration.
So far the only thing that I don't like about my new Porter Cable drill press is the table. Like most drill presses, it is a very small table, but this one is also more for metal work - with an oil trough. It also only has one through hole, so connecting a table was a little bit of a trick. I used a 3/4" pvc pipe, sanded down to fit in the center hole. I then epoxied that into the wooden table. I used the one through hole with a bolt into a t-nut, and another makeshift hold down made of scrap maple and bolted into another t-nut.
I like the idea of the hardboard replaceable inserts. I cut 4 of them when I made this one. They fit in nice and snug. The fence was a scarp piece from some shelf that I had a long time ago. The curved shape works well.
