This Scrabble game was missing too many letters to continue playing with it, so I took the game and board and made it into a Mother’s Day gift for my mom. The frame is made of 4/4 planed Black Cherry.
I had a little bit of tear out on one of the miters. Being able to see the wall through the knot hole visually ties the piece to the space. I super glued the letters to the board. The words are things that are important to our family.
The third photo is checking the alignment and fit of everything.
The last photo is making sure everything is flush… had to use the table saw for a good level surface to work off of. The sheets of paper were protecting it from the GluE DrIPs!
Finish was 2 coats of polyurethane. The polyurethane on the scrabble board paper made the paper finish darker than I expected.
