Miniature Bud Vases (~3” tall) in:

Apple Wood
Olive Wood
Black Mesquite
Cocobolo

Fun little projects. Just have to be careful to get the diameter right for the test tube insert… or the vase will split from pressure, as I found out.

Looks very nice. Does the wooden part shrink tight around the glass part?

It depends. Not if the wood is stable to begin with. I live in LA and we don’t have much in the way of humidity here. In fact, we’re in the midst of the worst drought ever (literally) so I guess I’ll find out how stable the wood ws when we get any increase in humidity or rains.

But these were dry when I got them and they have been sitting around my shop for almost three years, so I’m confident in their stability.
