I have really been getting into carving wood spirits lately this is the 3rd one i have done so far. I decided to name him petey because he reminds me of a teacher i had back when i was in high school. This carving was made using mahogany i had in my shop. The 3 photos are of the process from a rough outline to the finished piece, I still have not yet put any finish on him because i am still not quite sure what i should use. I am open to any suggestions.

Good looking chap! I like to use butcher block oil to keep the wood safe but a non-sheen finish. Plus you can add more anytime you want to freshen it up.
