Boat Sandbox

Project by Wingstress posted 404 days ago 1119 views 1 time favorited 6 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I wanted a sand box for the kids that had a cover that a 3 year old could take off and put on. I searched the internet and found only tarps that were tied. So I came up with a simple steering wheel on a 3” PVC axle that simply rolls up into a slot. The other end of the tarp just lays across two hooks. To make it a little fun for the kids I made it in the shape of a boat with a toy chest up front.

The pictures don’t do it justice because we’ve had some rough weather and it sits under our deck so its pretty dirty.

What an awesome idea, I’m sure the kids love it! Really like the idea of the cover and combining the toy box in the front! Great work!

Super design. Love the steering wheel tarp. That “hold up” for the bow section looks cool. Some kind of spring? Didn’t get pictures fast as the kids enjoyed it I see.
