I haven’t taken time to post any work lately, but on the eve of my wife and I headed on a week long mission trip, I have been frantically trying to get caught up on things before we leave on Monday. This is a little wooden box I turned on the lathe and inlayed a butterfly veneer into the lid. It’s about 4 1/2” in diameter and it was surely fun to make this very simple project. Finish is rattle can lacquer.

Very nice inlay work there Ken. Yall be safe over there and be sure to take Malaria prophylactic I had a friend die of cerebral malaria about a year ago while we were in equatorial guinea.

Very nice Ken.
Is that a really intricate inlay into solid wood or your first venture into marquetry?
Either way, I’m impressed.

its always fulfilling to work with wood,. regardless of the size of the project, and walnut just has such a rich look and feel, i really like this one ken, and i really like your stamp, i hope your mission trip went well, there are so many people in need, and every effort to help them is a helping hand for our Father in Heaven…
