The Busselton Geographe Bay Rotary club have a tradition whereby the incoming President presents the outgoing President with his own gavel in appreciation of his year of leadership…Busselton Mens Shed is an initiative of the Rotary Club and they were asked to make the Gavel.
The Gavel is made from Marri, grown only in the South West of Western Australia…forgive my poor photography but the photograph on the left shows a small plaque honouring the outgoing President.
Mens Shed is an Australian innovation: its prime function is to enhance men’s health and wellbeing. Research has shown that men find it hard to deal with a myriad of problems on their own…Men’s Sheds give them a chance to react again, to share a cuppa, a yarn and most importantly, each others company. This concept is gradually spreading world wide. Google www.wamsa.org.au or www.mensshed.org to find out more.
