Our daughter recently moved into her own apartment. I mounted a flat screen TV above the fireplace and she had no place to put the cable box and dvd player. I decided to make something for her. I thought it would be a nice surprise. When she saw it, she was clearly not happy because “it does not match my living room furniture and I don’t like the drawer handle”. She has no livingroom furniture other than what we gave her so…... Long story short, I now have an end table with DVD storage.

This was made with a piece of Home Depot plywood that I bought and stained about a year ago (before I knew how badly their plywood twists and bows). It was originally for the top of some cabinets I made for my wifes home office. I had a heck of a time getting the carcass as straight as it is.

Thanks for looking… critical comments always welcome.

Nice cabinet, too bad the Daughter didn’t like it. Too bad for her, that is. You’d think that people would like something that their Father built for them.

Silly girl – I think it looks great.
I like the cutouts on the sides that match the one on the front.

NIce job Hutch. I like it. The drawer looks to be a good fit. I bet that was hard to do with the less than perfect plywood.
