AKA “A Bench For Any Room” From FineWoodworking Magazine. These were fun to build but I am not so sure about easy to build in a weekend aspect. They make a great addition to the table and we have already enjoyed many meals using them. Same finish and wood as the table.
The bench tops are different wood. When I got to the final piece of reclaimed beam to mill up for the bench tops I realized it was a different species of wood. Lucky for me it made a nice contrast to the Douglas Fir. I thought the wood was brown on the outside due to age, but it went all the way through, and it had that medicine smell of Camphor. If anyone knows what this is based on the last picture please let me know.
