Pool Deck Complete

Last year we purchased an above ground pool and started to deck around it just before the end of the season was upon us and I had to wait until this year to complete. Well it was finished in mid-June and fortunately, the weather turned around and my girls have been having a great time with it. Wanted to do it with cedar but the cost was just too much so ended going with pressure treated. Ran rope lights around the entire deck for lighting that`s not `in your face` and glaring. Gives the deck a really nice look in the night.

Thanks for looking.
Cheers!

Very nice. We are getting a larger above ground pool and will be building a deck, but I doubt it will be as nice and large as what you built

That is nice. I can appreciate the amount of work that it took to do all that. The rope light was a good solution. I am no expert but I bet the pressure treated is less maintenance than cedar. I am curious why the fence isn’t a little more open. Is that more for privacy or wind?

I didn’t even think this sort of thing was an option, but now that I see it, I want it. You may have just given me a very expensive idea…thanks for that. :-)

Those lights at night are great looking. Looks like you could charge people to come have an $11 cocktail and sit in that pool. Well done

Nice job. The lighting is really excellent. I’m guessing it makes you want to hang out there at night.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes the lights definitely make it nice to hang out at night with a cold brew or glass of wine (or maybe both!). The reason for the fence being so closed in is primarily to prevent any chance of my two kids (aged 10 and 8) from getting in there without us around. Also, local code states that a pool must be surrounded by a 6ft fence with a locked gate. Although my property has a fence and locked gates, I decided to go the extra step and put the same around the pool deck as well. And of course, it provides great privacy for a late night skinny dip …. if one was so inclined :-)
