I found some more items made by Mrs. handsawgeek last year.

This candle holder and vase are made from some kind of mountain ash cut from logs given to me by my step-dad from his property in Colorado. The wood has gorgeous color and figure.

Quick note: The dark bands at the top of the vase were fashioned by burning the wood with larger guage guitar strings as it turned !

They are great looking, love the colours.
It is very similar to our Aussie Mulga which has a dark heartwood and very light sapwood. Always gives a great contrast.

Bob.

Thanks
I checked out your projects page. Very nice work!
Western Australia, eh?
I collect stamps and have several ‘Swan’ issues from the Western Australia colonial era. They are some of my favorites.

Cheers.

Like these, I have some Mesquite that is a dead ringer for the wood.
