Completed – Summer 2013. This model was started by me about 10 years ago, but sat idle until last year when Mrs. handsawgeek got disgusted with it and finished it!

OK, I too have built a couple of ships. Glad to see someone else interested. Nice rendition !!! Thanks for showing it.
I have had this yearn to build a Greet trireme. Coming up in September, 2,500 years ago at the Battle of Salamis. This ship’s design, along with it’s fleet commander/ tactician, with the fighting men of Greece, both land and water. Fought a battle literal altered history, to what we are, and have today.

Great project! I had just this last week watched a show and this ship was talked about. They sure reinvented the wheel with this one.

Ed, Your picture has become my mystery question of the day for a few friends of mine that, like me, are sponges for learning of all types, especially history.
I learned about the Turtle Ships decades ago in one of my history courses and your model brought all of it flooding back.
I hope you don’t mind, if so, I will delete it.

Ask and you shall receive!
This isn’t the original post. That was so inundated with junk from some, ahem, addled personages, that I had to delete it.
If you can’t enlarge it enough I’ll post it to my website and you can enlarge it there.

Yep, I’ll have to go to the website. Enlarging didn’t work..unreadable.

I tried it from my website too. Still not very large.
If you have FB just friend me (Dal Farnworth @ Facebook) and you can go right to it, lol or I can try sending you an email

There’s an enormous model of that ship in a glass case in Los Angeles City Hall. A gift to the City from one of her Chinese Sister Cities.

Thanks for the info. Next time I’m out that way, I’ll have to check it out.
